Barnard Environmental Magnet School - New Haven, CT
This demolition and site work project was a U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEEDs) Project. For this project, Stamford Wrecking Company’s already existing recycling initiatives combined with the requirements of the LEEDs program to insure the reuse of materials from the selective demolition of a 1900’s vintage, three story school, and the complete demolition of two other buildings on the site.
Our services consisted of: asbestos, lead and other hazardous and regulated materials abatements; contaminated soil remediation; tree, plant and wetlands protection; site clearing; site concrete installation, paver installation, excavation and earthwork. Stamford Wrecking performed other significant work at the site including the construction of a pedestrian bridge which transverses a four lane state highway, installation of landscaping, parking lots, service areas, walkways and outdoor lighting.
